Printing 20 A2 prints took around 2 hours of printing time! I also printed off a large A1 print of Ned, the same one I used as the cover photo on the Facebook page, I plan to hang this one up somewhere in the entrance.
Some of the pictures were from a film camera, the two he took in China actually and I was worried about the resolution however they've come out really aesthetically pleasing, despite the fact they're slightly blurred it adds to the grainy moody b&w feel.
The only one I feel I may need to print again is the one entitled 'Gran'. I pulled this image of his photography website so it's not actually the original, hence the poor quality. I will need to ask his brother in Bristol to check Ned's hard drive to see if it can be recovered. Other than this one they all came out really well. I asked the student union to help me out with paying for the boards to mount the pictures on (which only cost £28 from the library) which helped out a great deal, not to mention them contacting higher powers in order to 'ok' me printing the photograph prints for free.
The union then allowed me to print off hand outs of the article I did the layout for at the end of last year for Ned. The article is about his travel to India and him reuniting with his friend Ravi, and his family.
I'm going to have fun tonight cropping these all!!..
I'll be printing my own posters as the union have done so much for me! I'll put a few up around uni:
I wanted it to be simple, legible and be fluid with the design of the Facebook page. I used the yellowy/ orange stripes as a reference to his firey hair, the sportswear brands he loved to wear, cystic fibrosis trust colours and his overall need for speed which drove him throughout his life.
