Instagram speaker

Finding in groups somebody who would be a good speaker, discussing their instagram use.

I suggested clothing designer/ printer memegold, she designs clothes for female artists such as Iamddb and promotes female body positivity, posting images and videos of girls wearing her clothes, creating a supportive network. She has her own radio show solidifying influence musically, and has links to other clothing designers such as her boyfriend who designed a range Slazenger Banger as well as artists such as her dad who paints to commemorate Grenfell tower victims. She posts daily funny stories increasing her personable approach.

Another suggestion benjamincraven prints onto textile, paper and a range of other materials. His vibrant prints gain a lot of attention.

We've chosen to go with printedgoods, they're based in Bristol, have been featured on Its nice that and collaborated with the likes of Peroni and Doc Martins. They're brothers which appeals as there's a 'second set of eyes' and a personable aspect. Their large scale prints are vibrant and beautiful, the main reason we're drawn to them is their wide range of collaborations, with their wide audience of 35.1k followers they seem to be doing something right.

Fundraiser Production

Printing 20 A2 prints took around 2 hours of printing time! I also printed off a large A1 print of Ned, the same one I used as the cover photo on the Facebook page, I plan to hang this one up somewhere in the entrance.

Some of the pictures were from a film camera, the two he took in China actually and I was worried about the resolution however they've come out really aesthetically pleasing, despite the fact they're slightly blurred it adds to the grainy moody b&w feel.

The only one I feel I may need to print again is the one entitled 'Gran'. I pulled this image of his photography website so it's not actually the original, hence the poor quality. I will need to ask his brother in Bristol to check Ned's hard drive to see if it can be recovered. Other than this one they all came out really well. I asked the student union to help me out with paying for the boards to mount the pictures on (which only cost £28 from the library) which helped out a great deal, not to mention them contacting higher powers in order to 'ok' me printing the photograph prints for free.

The union then allowed me to print off hand outs of the article I did the layout for at the end of last year for Ned. The article is about his travel to India and him reuniting with his friend Ravi, and his family.

I'm going to have fun tonight cropping these all!!..

I'll be printing my own posters as the union have done so much for me! I'll put a few up around uni:

I wanted it to be simple, legible and be fluid with the design of the Facebook page. I used the yellowy/ orange stripes as a reference to his firey hair, the sportswear brands he loved to wear, cystic fibrosis trust colours and his overall need for speed which drove him throughout his life.

In Ten Years Time

In Ten Years Time I will be...

I'm mentally stable,
I see people walking down the street wearing Lazy Gear, that I've printed with my team in a screen print studio in South London.
I go to gigs and see my own animated visuals on the backdrop, I design album artwork on the weekend, but I always have time to see my friends who are so precious to me.
I'm happy and comfortable, living in a rooftop apartment in London with the love of my life. They've just brought home another kitten. My apartment is decorated with fairy lights, lava lamps and hanging plants, planets and such.
I live just far out enough to hear birds and see green but far in enough my commute doesn't stress me. I continue having drinks with my mother as much as I can, I have a mini bar in my kitchen; but I'm capable of going a night without a drink. I do design work aiding mental health charities, possibly some art therapy on the side. I don't let anyone step on me.

Planning

Annual goals: Pass the year, develop Lazy Gear product range and social media presence, Look after myself

Term goals: Ensure Ned's fundraiser goes smoothly (accepting help when necessary), Produce Aloe Vera fundraiser T-shirts on Lazy Gear, do the best I can for my COP essay and outcome which I've researched and been passionate about for a while
